SWISS. AN EXCEPTIONAL AND VERY RARE GOLD, ENAMEL, PEARL AND DIAMOND-SET KEYWOUND MUSICAL VERGE WATCH IN THE FORM OF A HARP, MADE FOR THE CHINESE MARKET UNSIGNED, CIRCA 1810 Keywound verge movement, chain fusée, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, hinged and set at the base of the harp, opaque blue enamel and foliate border, pearl-set bezel, translucent blue enamel columns over engine-turned ground, panels both with applied allegory of love in relief, the front hinged panel with painted polychrome enamel with an allegory of music, the hinged panel also reveals the musical box, the pegs with gold strings set with diamonds, four gilt ram heads and decorative pearl loops, one side of the neck further enhanced by rose-cut diamonds, the other with opaque blue, white and black enamel, the gilt centre strip and sound board enhanced with blue and black enamel motif, gilt strings, gold chain, unsigned 79 mm. high
