Taung of the Traung Label and Lithograph Co., and which is being presented to you with our compliments." On the letter, beneath the body of the text, is typed a copy of Rolph's reply, thanking Skelly for the gift. Beneath the letter is written on the back of the frame: "This is a copy of a 36" x 27" oil on canvas for Colt Firearms Corp. poster 1926." Ralph Baker (1908-1976), artist of this watercolor, began working for the Traung Label and Lithograph Co. around 1928 as both a painter and lithographer. This watercolor, from which Traung made their lithographic copies, would have been one of his early efforts in a long and notable career. Lot Amendments Condition: Some normal wear to the frame and the back, the image is fine or nearly so. Item number: 253190
