This scarce satirical ballad on the Jacobite rebellion, 'making fun of both sides,' was originally printed in London in 12 stanzas under the title Arms and the man. A new ballad [Foxon A292 and A293]. ESTC gives 4 locations for Part I of this Edinburgh edition, and 5 locations for Part II, the continuation, which begins: 'Ancore; now let's have th'other Touch of the Song.' The Sequel of Arms and the man [Foxon S202] begins 'Ye whigs sing Te Deum, ye Jacobites fret and is apparently a different composition. Foxon A294 and A295; Macbean p. 12. (2)
