Bo Whang is an anarchic Highland soldier who runs into trouble following an unfortunate encounter between a misdirected caber and a policeman. He joins the French Foreign Legion, subtly changing his name to Beau Whang (P.C. Wren’s Beau Geste was published in 1924 and first filmed in 1926), has many further adventures, and makes an amazing (if unlikely) return to his homeland. As a Sketchbook, w.a.f. (1)
