The Beatles & The Rolling Stones - an autograph book containing various signatures of bands from the 1960s, most notably The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The vendor - a music fanatic at the time - met The Beatles several times, notably in 1963 whilst they played Weston Super Mare. This autograph book was signed at that time, outside The Royal Pier Hotel. The Rolling Stones were obtained when they played Bath Pavillion in November of the same year. In detail, The Beatles autographs comprise: Ringo Starr - signed in blue ink to a left-hand page, dated 26-7-63 by the vendor. No autograph on reverse page. Ringo Starr - second autograph on a left-hand page, dated the same. The first autograph appears a little unclean due to a bad pen. Ringo appears to have noticed this, and then flipped to a page further along and signing in a different pen. No autograph to reverse. George Harrison - signed on a left-hand page and dedicated 'To Sandra'. The vendor has added the date (same as above) and the details of Harrison's car - a Dark Green Mk2 Jag - Reg 29 XPP. Autograph to reverse of Gerry Marsden of Gerry & The Pacemakers (on the same bill as The Beatles). John Lennon - signed on a right-hand page (opposite Harrison) and dedicated To Sandra. The vendor has added the date and details of Lennon's vehicle - a white Thames Van, Reg No. 6834 KD. No autograph to reverse. Paul McCartney - signed to a right-hand page in blue ink, dedicated 'To Sandra'. Dated by vendor. Another autograph features to the reverse (a member of The Sundowners). The Rolling Stones autographs comprise: A double-page with pasted-in pages from another autograph book, with signatures of Brian Jones Bill Wyman, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Keith and Mick to one page together, and Wyman & Watts pasted-in separately on the other page. Other autographs within the book include; The Big 3, Tommy Quickly, Kevin Kirk, Gerry & The Pacemakers (who were on the same bill with The Beatles), Dec Cluskey of The Bachelors, Del Shannon, and a handful of other identified. A unique autograph album, with a great local connection, and one of the very few examples that feature signatures from the two biggest bands of the 1960s. From the Sandra Woodruff (née Blaken) collection
