Inscribed by the Allens on the last page of text: "For Dr. & Mrs. Phelan, Dec. 1,1994, Lewis Allen Dorothy Allen." Also signed by the Allen's, "Dorothy, Lew & Stephen" in green ink in the colophon. Originally written by Mark Twain for the San Francisco Californian on December 23, 1865. Allen Press Biblio. 8. Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear to boards, rubbing to extremities; very good or better. Item number: 272214
