Date: 1808 Description: [12], 316 pp. Illus. with 10 etched copper-plate engravings. (8vo) original boards, paper spine label. First Edition. The "general character of the work" is "essentially original," although the author admits to borrowing from others when common experience so justifies. A captain in the army, Williamson was the author of Wild Sports in India and Oriental Field Sports as well as the present work. Westwood & Satchell pp.241-242. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine and label chipped, some wear and soiling to boards; stain at head of approximately the first 50 pages, foxing; good. Item number: 233283
