R.H.Nelson, Surgeon T.H.Parke, A.M.S. and A.J.Mounteney-Jephson mounted in silver frames with Stanley medals flanking the photograph of Stanley above a silver plaque engraved 'Presented by the Officers of the Advance Column/of the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition/to/Mr & Mrs Henry Morton Stanley/on their marriage July 12th 1890. in token of their admiration & affectionate rememberance of their leader.', the whole surmounted by British and Turkish flags below the Crown and royal cypher, mounted on a silver and ebonised wood tabernacle frame, 39 7/8 x 25in. (101.3 x 63.5cm.) overall. An elaborate wedding present given to Mr and Mrs Stanley, 12 July 1890, from the officers of the Advance column.
