Fernald Place: Boston Publisher: Wright & Potter Date: 1896 Description: xii, 495, [1], c pp. With a chromolithograph frontispiece containing eight figures, 65 other plates, two of them in chromolithograph, four full-page maps, one with colored borders, 37 figures, and numerous tables, a few of them multi- or double-page, in the text. (8vo) original embossed cloth, gilt lettered spine. First Edition. Not in the British Library Catalogue, which lists three other titles under Forbush and one other title under Fernald, but not this one. Lot Amendments Condition: Wear to cloth with some fading to spine light corner bumps and rubbing to extremities, some spotting to front board; front hinge cracked. With Stanford University bookplate with their neat withdrawn stamp on the front pastedown, perforation blindstamp on the title-page, not affecting the text, withdrawn rubberstamp on the verso of the title-page; very good.
