With fore-edge painting of the racehorse "Mameluke" and his trainer. Mameluke seems to have had a very elongated body, and legs much shorter than one might expect from a thoroughbred. With the circular bookplate of Caroline Elizabeth Cooke Trent on the front pastedown, and her old ink ownership signature on the front flyleaf. Bookplate of Edward Thomas King on the front free endpaper. Lot Amendments Condition: Slight rubbing at spine ends, else fine. Item number: 157923
