Ship Victoria) officially impressed naming, light contact marks and wear, otherwise very fine and very rare £4000-5000 Footnote Ex Sotheby June 1912, Glendining November 1927 (Hamilton-Smith collection), and Glendining July 1945, to Baldwin, from whom purchased. Although there are 40 names on the roll for H.M. Colonial Steamer Victoria, only 10 medals appear to have been issued, this particular medal being issued on 26 August 1872. The naval personnel of this vessel constituted the first ever official Australian force to engage in war services.
