Photos depict both the fair itself, and scenes throughout the state. The exposition was held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park and was the first "world's fair" to be held in the state. Lot also includes "Views of San Francisco", an accordion-fold book of lithographed cards after photographs depicting a panoramic view of San Francisco, and notable buildings such as the Cliff House.
