THE MOST NOBLE ORDER OF THE GARTER (K.G.)., a rare 16th Century Lesser George, 70 mm. x 39 mm., the central gold equestrian figure of St. George enamelled en ronde bosse and set overall with 24 Hog-back cut diamonds, the dragon enamelled in translucent colours and opaque white, its head and tail encircling the lance, the whole surrounded by the deep blue enamel Garter with gold motto, the chape pierced and with pendant pearl, integral enamelled suspension ring, some blue enamel damage and restoration to Garter, and minor enamel damage to the central figure but generally very fine and of the finest workmanship, extremely rare
