Frontispiece in each volume; The Birth-place of O'Connell and Connemara-Ballinahinch. With steel-engravings throughout. 20x12 cm (8x5"), green embossed cloth, gilt lettered spine. The observations of Robert Allen a sportsman who "contented himself with such accommodation as he could find among the humble inns and farmhouses, varied occasionally by hospitality freely offered by the poorer gentry and clergy of the west." (the Introduction). Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear, spines sunned; foxing; bookplate of Frederick W. Skiff; very good. Item number: 256755
