thirty whole plate albumen prints (8 1/2 x 6 1/2) inches of Egypt, all on original mounts with pencilled caption, twenty six being signed "F. M. Good" or monogrammed "FMG" in the negative, the remainder with no visible signature, together with one similar unsigned print 3 3/4 x 6 1/2 inches. (31) Frank Mason Good joined the Royal Photographic Society in 1864 and was a member until at least 1880. He is known to have been active in the near East during the 1860s and 70s. Little more is known about him and his images seem more common as stereo card views. He was commissioned by Frances Frith on his first trip to the Near East and much of his early work was published by Frith unsigned and without credit. Léon & Lévy published many of his stereo views on glass. See illustration
