Parallel titles and text in Danish, French and German (the text in three vertical columns). (4 plates shaved just touching the image, 2 of the folding plates laid down, 20 plates with small tears, marginal in the main but occasionally affecting the image.) Contemporary Danish panelled calf, tooled in gilt and blind, the spines in nine compartments with raised bands, lettered in two, the others with an elaborate repeat pattern made up from various small tools, g.e. (corners bumped, neat repairs to head and foot of spines, joints rubbed and slightly split). FIRST EDITION of the only large scale influential work on architecture to be published in Denmark. The two volumes illustrate buildings within Copenhagen and the royal palaces outside the city and provide a survey of the work of Thurah.
