(18 5/8 x 12 1/8 in.), contemporary Danish calf, covers blind-panelled within outer gilt roll-tooled border, the panels with blind roll-tooled borders, blind-tooled floral ornaments at corners, the central panel mottled, spines gilt, black morocco lettering-pieces, edges mottled, a few scrapes to sides, joints and extremities worn, dampstaining to upper margins and tops of plates of both volumes, particularly affecting vol. 1, borders shaved of plate 1 of vol. 1 and plates 10 and 16 of vol. 2 (the last with slight loss to image), plates 38 and 49 of vol. 1 slightly discolored . FIRST EDITION, engraved frontispiece and 281 engraved plates, of which 5 folding, of architectural plans and views of buildings within Copenhagen and royal palaces outside the city, text in parallel columns of Danish, French and German. Berlin Katalog 2259. Provenance : Lindenfels, eighteenth-century signature on title-pages; Albert Duke of Saxony-Teschen, inscription on front free endpaper of vol. 1, shelf-mark labels (?) on front paste-downs. (2)
