TWO LARGE UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND COPPER-RED 'FLOWER' DISHES KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722) One dish is decorated to the interior with a lotus pond enclosed by six flower sprays including peony, chrysanthemum and magnolia to the rim. The other dish is decorated to the centre with a butterfly in flight above peonies growing beside rocks. The rim is decorated with leafy lotus blossoms. Both dishes are decorated to the exterior with large leafy peonies. 18 ½ in. (47 cm.) diam. Provenance Acquired in the late 19th-early 20th century, and thence by descent to the present owner.
