States: "In spring 1958 the 'Haus der Kunst' München, Germany, is going to arrange an extensive exhibition of my work and desires to show for the first time also paintings in possession of the different owners in the United States....Mr. P.A. Ade, managing director of the 'Haus der Kunst' is going to leave for the United States at the end of this month, for the purpose to ask the American-owned paintings in loan." And goes on how Mr. Ade will likely visit San Francisco to possibly collect Kokoschka's paintings for loan for the exhibit, including those showing at the San Francisco Museum of Art. 11½x8¼". Oskar Kokoschka is best known for his intense expressionistic portraits and landscapes. His affair with the famed Venetian beauty, Alma Mahler, helped inspire one of his better known works, Bride of the Wind, which is a tribute to her.
