.69 caliber, 42" barrel retained by three barrel bands, bright finish, walnut stock. Reconverted Springfield marked lock dated 1841. No visible date on barrel, proof marks partially legible. Two weak cartouches visible on counterpane of stock. Rack number 24 stamped in obverse butt. Retains both sling swivels, ramrod is an old replacement from a French musket. Condition: Good as reconverted. Hammer appears original, pan and other flint battery parts appear to be reproductions. Metal with moderate pitting around breech, and a salt & pepper appearance elsewhere. Stock solid with bumps and dings. Mechanically functional, fair bore is very dirty.
