U5 1888 (1 Mar.) U5 to Germany, bearing 1887 perf. 12 x 11½ 6d. brown-lake tied by Apia c.d.s. (Type 1) in violet, in combination with U.S. 5c. and 10c. cancelled by cork obliterators, showing San Francisco transit d.s. on reverse; the U5 with a few light stains and folds, one of which affects the 6d.
