Carbutt, #286 "View of Pine Bluff and Editorial Party, U.P.R.R. showing large group of newspaper reporters on the excursion to the end of tracks posed all about the unusual rock formation & #287 "First Rock Cut on U.P.R.R. entering the Black Hills" showing workers in the deep cut before rubble has been removed for the road bed. Two by an unknown photographer w/manuscript titles penned on versos (not copies), #93 "View betw. Tunnels 3 and 4." Burchard has pencilled "Union Pacific R.R., Weber Canyon - Bridge right." And #103 "The Narrows of Weber Canon," w/Burchard note in pencil "Union Pacific R.R. Tracks (right)." and finally a view by Wm. H. Jackson #101 "Devil's Slide." Burchard has penned on the left recto edge "Union Pacific R.R." First two on dark pink mounts, the next two on light pink mounts & the Jackson view on a yellow mt. Provenance: The Ed Burchard Stereoview Collection Condition: Overall bright & clear with some foxing & soil in the sky areas of the of #'s 93 & 103. Those also have rubbing of the mount corners.
