Stamped on right side of blade with crown "VR" and maker "W. THORNHILL & CO. LONDON". The crescent blade is 4" across the edge; the head formed in one piece with a hammer opposite the blade. The shaft extending 11" from the head in one piece of steel. The grip if exotic wood, appears to be rosewood attached to the shaft with two steel rods. CONDITION: Blade shows use but no abuse. Some chips in edge are minor. Checkered grip in good condition. Ax appears to retain considerable original polish. Accompanying the ax are two leather sheaths with brass buckles.
