UTAGAWA KUNISADA (1786 – 1865), UTAGAWA HIROSHIGE II (1842 – 1894), UTAGAWA KUNIYOSHI (1798 – 1861) Late Edo period, early 19th century Four Japanese woodblock prints, three oban tate-e, featuring an image of a woman in a landscape signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi, the second the Nihon Embankment, Yoshiwara from the series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo (Meisho Edo hyakkei: Yoshiwara Nihon zutsumi), signed Hiroshige ga, published by Uoya Eikichi in 1857, framed together to the reverse with an ink study of two figures and a crane, the third a collaboration print by Utagawa Kunisada (1786 - 1865) and Hiroshige II (1842 - 1894), Station 28: Enoshima from the series Scenes of Famous Places Along the Tokaido Road (Tōkaidō meisho no uchi: Enoshima), signed Kunisada ga and Hiroshige ga, published by Isaya Kanekichi in 1863, and the fourth, yoko-e, The Gion Shrine in Snow from the series Famous Views of Kyoto (Kyôto meisho no uchi: Gion-sha setchû), signed Hiroshige ga, published by Kawaguchiya Shôzô (Shôeidô, Eisendô) in 1834, all framed and glazed 35cm x 25cm (4) Provenance: an English private collection.
