According to Špála's own list of works, which he kept from 1926 until the end of his life, it is known that he made only 17 small paintings that year - all still lifes with fruit, and several small watercolors. The brushwork is typical, with clear, primarily diagonal strokes made with a flat brush, with red and blue gradations forming the background. The shape of the fruit is built using fields with a color scale expanded to include green and bright yellow. Watercolor on paper, signed and dated "V. Špála 17/4 45" on bottom right.
