WAGENAAR, Jan. 'T verheugd Amsterdam, ter gelgenheid van het plegtig bezoek hunner doolugtige en koningklyke Hoogheden Willem, Prinse van Orange en Nassau... en zyne gemaalinne Frederica Sophia Wilhelmina, Prinsesse van Pruissen. Amsterdam: Yntema & Tieboel, 1768. 2° (417 x 255mm). Title in red and black with engraved vignette, engraved frontispiece, 14 plates (13 double-page, 1 folding) all by Simon Fokke and Renier Vinkekes. (Some light soiling, occasional small tears to blank margins of a few plates.) Contemporary Dutch mottled calf, elaborately panelled in gilt, spine gilt with raised bands and a red morocco lettering-piece in one compartment (neat repairs to joints, some soiling of endpapers). A FINE COPY of this illustrated record of the first official visit to Amsterdam from 30 May to 6 June 1768 of William V of Orange and his wife Frederika Sophia Wilhelmina of Prussia. This copy has an engraved frontispiece with the publisher's name Johannes Smit and date 1772, a 1p. explanatory poem and a 6pp. subscribers' list which were not part of the original issue of this work.
