Black Mischief. 1932. first edition, 8vo, (194 x 135mm), original red and black cloth, half-title, map illustrated frontispiece, 303pp. The author's third novel; Love Among the Ruins, A Romance of the Near Future. Advance Proof Copy. Chapman & Hall, 1950. first edition, Limited edition of 350 copies, original card wrappers, 8vo, (216 x 140mm), typescript paper label to front reads, 'NOTE. For technical reasons these proofs have been pulled from the formes used for printing the Limited Edition. It should be remembered that the ordinary edition will be Large Crown 8vo (8' x 5') and printed in black throughout', printed by James Upton, London and Birmingham, 50pp; Helena. A Novel. 1950. first edition, 8vo, (192 x 140mm), original blue cloth, half-title, dedication to Penelope Betjeman, 265pp. (Qty. 3) Condition Report: 1. Black Mischief - clean bright boards and gilt lettering, extremities a little scuffed, some foxing to lower edges, finger marks to title-page, toning to edges and throughout, o/w. clean internally. 2. Love Among the Ruins - a few light marks to card wrappers, the label's typescript text a little faded, edges toned and further toning internally. 3.
