"From Bristol Towards Barbadoes", manuscript ship's log, 9pp. excluding blanks, slightly browned, pen and ink compass drawing loosely inserted at end, 8 watercolours of ships loosely inserted, original wrappers, manuscript title on upper cover, ink stained and slightly marked, 1756; and another manuscript ship's log, ship St. George to Bristol to the Cape of Good Hope, 1840, folio (2). ⁂ First mentioned: "Monday Febry. ye 2d 1756 at four in the morning ... Sail for ye Island of Barbadoes in Company wth. 30 sails for Different Ports at 8: P:M a Brest a Pawlock [Porlock] at 10... Dicharg'd the Pilot. fine pleasant breezes."
