(1841-1936) Honfleur (Donkey Ride) Signed and annotated lower right Titled lower left Oil on board, 24.7 x 27.1 cm Note: Verschuur maintained a strong friendship with fellow horse painter Willem Carel Nakken (1835-1926), whom he likely met at Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. In 1867, they embarked on a study trip to Normandy, and their shared love for travel led them to revisit the region at a later time.
