Gray cloth, spine lettered in gilt, black endpapers, top edge gilt. "New, Revised and Enlarged Edition." Contains: 1-page, 11-line autograph letter signed by the Massachussetts Senator, Charles Sumner (1811–1874), with his initials headed "Senate Chamber, 20th," reads: "Dear Andrew, no meeting in Committee to-day...Tomorrow I hope to leave for home, when we can speak together, ever yours, C.S." tipped-in on the front preliminary page (with 2 small tape repairs on verso); a clipped signature of William Lloyd Garrison (1805-1879) historic U.S. Abolitionist and reformer, along with a clipped address hand-written by Garrison to "Master J.R.
