(7½x5"), original green cloth-backed geometric patterned boards, spine lettered in gilt. No. 140 of 440 copies designed by Bruce Rogers and printed at the Riverside Press. First Edition. With an armorial bookplate of Grenville-Lindall-Winthrop on front pastedown. Murdoch writes: "One of the most entertaining books ever written on the psychology of golf." Donovan states: "The Mystery of Golf was one of the first books to explore the metaphysical and philosophical aspects of the game. In the opinion of some critics, it is one of the most engaging books ever written about the game..." - Murdoch 329; D&M 20420; D&J H9280.
