1851-68, a good used selection from the classic period including 1851 laid paper 6d. slate-violet, 1852-56 handmade wove paper 3d. scarlet-vermilion used on 1855 entire, 6d. (2, greenish-grey and brownish-grey shades), 1857 machine made paper 3d. selection comprising an unused example (with B.P.A. Certificate) and used examples (9, including a vertical pair), variously cancelled including Port Hope numeral "33" h.s., 1857-64 ½d. rose horizontal plate proof pair and similar block of four trial colour proof in black, all overprinted "SPECIMEN" in green or red respectively, and both showing partial marginal imprint; an excellent selection, the majority being of fine to very fine appearance with just a few imperfections.
