1895 N300 MAYO'S CUT PLUG FRAMED GROUP OF 27 DIFFERENT OWNED BY CASEY STENGEL Released in 1895, the Mayo Cut Plug (N300) baseball card set is a prominent issue of the era. This display was either given to Casey by an admirer at some point in his career, or may possibly have been part of his boyhood collection. This group of N300 Mayo’s constitutes more than half of the set and includes most of its key representations. All of the cards appear to have been trimmed and glued to a cardboard backing, then matted and mounted in a vintage frame. Players are: Abbey, Anson (HOF), Bannon, Cartwright, Clarkson (HOF), Corcoran, Dahlen, Daly, Duffy (HOF), Glasscock(Louisville), Griffin, Haddock (No Team Name), Hallman, Joyce, Kennedy, Kinslow (Pittsburg), Latham, Lovett, Lowe, McCarthy (HOF), Murphy, Nash, Russie (HOF), Ryan, Smith, Stocksdale and Ward (2nd Base, HOF). Cards average VG-EX or better in appearance with note to trimming. LOA from the Stengel family.
