In 1951 the Austin Motor Company introduced their fourth edition of the famous Austin Seven called the A30 providing an instant success as an economical four-seater saloon with 65mph performance. In 1956 the model was upgraded to A35 using the revised 948cc BMC Series A engine which it shared with the Morris Minor 1000. Overall performance was greatly enhanced with a top speed approaching 75mph and nearly 50mpg at a constant 60mph. The model range consisted of two and four door saloons, a panelled van and a two door countryman. This 1960 Austin A35 Countryman is today the most sought after model of the A35 range providing a neat and personable estate car with four seats and adequate luggage space.
