1960 Bentley S2 Continental Coupé par H.J. A l'époque, il pouvait se targuer d'être le coupé quatre places le plus rapide au monde. En 1959, la Bentley Continental s'est muée en " S2 ", adoptant le tout nouveau bloc V8 de 6,2 litres en aluminium. La transmission automatique et la direction assistée faisaient partie de l'équipement de série. L'exemplaire que nous vous présentons est sorti d'usine le 2 mars 1960 pour être expédié à Genève, dans une livrée " whitehall grey and rose beige " agrémentée d'une sellerie en cuir rouge. Un descriptif de vente de la Maison Sotheby's, en 1992, décrit la voiture comme étant celle du Salon de Genève 1960, ce qui correspond au niveau des dates, puisque son premier propriétaire, A.W. Berner voit sa garantie débuter le 26 avril 1960. C'est en 1966 que la voiture retourne en Angleterre pour y rester jusqu'en 2003, année de son achat par l'actuel propriétaire. Un important dossier nous indique que la voiture a bénéficié d'une remise en état en 1987, incluant une réfection complète du moteur aux spécifications S3, alors que le compteur affichait 48 776 miles, il en montre aujourd'hui 71 717. La peinture grise, avec filets bordeaux, refaite anciennement, arbore aujourd'hui une patine élégante, tout comme l'habitacle en cuir rouge avec moquettes assorties. Un essai en compagnie du propriétaire a permis de constater son bon état de fonctionnement, doux et feutré comme il se doit.
