1960 Morris Minor Custom Car Lot Number 241 Registration 882 FUO Chassis Number MA2S3847253 Engine Number 9M-U-H461649 Odometer reading 3,317 miles Estimate No Reserve Result Sold - £1,358 Print details Send this to a friend The Morris Minor was debuted at the Earls Court Motor Show in London on 20th September 1948. Designed by Alec Issigonis, more than 1.3 million were manufactured between 1948 and 1971. In 1952, the Morris Minor was updated with an Austin-designed overhead valve, A-Series engine, replacing the original side-valve power plant. Cosmetically the front wings and grill were replaced, and the head lights moved from the grill to the front wings. In 1952, in addition to the two and four door saloon and the four seat convertible, an estate version was introduced, known as the Traveller, along with the van and pick-up versions. Originally registered on 3rd September 1960, this Morris Minor custom car was built by a retired aircraft engineer in the mid 70’s. The car is now fitted with an Austin-Healey Sprite engine and gearbox, the twin SU carburettors help to make this a lively performer. The seats are trimmed in leather and the dashboard layout has a familiar Morris Minor appearance. Front disc brakes are fitted together with a servo; the removable hood and frame can be stored in the spacious boot compartment. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 20th August 2018 (no advisories) and having been recently serviced, she is ready to go on her next adventure.
