The Shelby Mustang is a high performance variant of the Ford Mustang which was built by Shelby American from 1965 through to 1970. For 1967, the GT 350 carried over the K-Code high performance 289 with a 'COBRA' aluminum hi-rise. The GT 500 was then added to the lineup. These later cars carried over few of the performance modifications of the 1965-66 GT350s, although they did feature more cosmetic changes. In September 1967, production was moved to the A.O. Smith Company of Ionia, Michigan, under Ford control. Shelby American had substantially less involvement after this time. This particular Mustang started off originally as a Ford Mustang GT 390-4V-S code engine car (1967 specification) and registered on 30 th August 1966, as stated on the Marti report. Having been the subject of a full nut and bolt restoration, completed in March 2008 with an overall cost of circa £130,000, it has covered just 1,400 miles since. With over 300 photographs of the restoration project, this Shelby Mustang can only be described as stunning. Now fitted with a Ford Police Interceptor 428ci, 7.2 litre V8 engine, the performance and exhaust note of the engine are hard to describe. Finished in metallic blue, complemented by white stripes and black trim, the paintwork is of an extremely high quality. The Mustang Workshop in Hampshire carried out the restoration for the previous owner and clearly their remit was to build the best car they could and with no expense spared. As award winning repairers and restorers, The Mustang Workshop exceeded the clients' expectations in building such a magnificent example. Supplied with a V5 document and a MoT test certificate valid until 13th April 2012, together with a comprehensive file of receipts, rarely do such fine Shelby Mustangs come on the market and this represents an opportunity to purchase one of the very best.
