Shown at the October 1966 Earls Court Motor Show alongside the technically advanced four-wheel drive FF, the Touring of Milan-designed Interceptor was quite a sensation and received much praise. The fact Jensen had, in the space of a year, produced two completely new models was also outstanding, particularly as the two companies involved in the project were 680 miles apart. The original design, penned by Touring of Milan, was taken to Vignale of Turin who had the capability to produce the car in far greater numbers than Touring. Fully trimmed and painted body shells were then delivered from Italy for assembly at West Bromwich by October 1966. Both new cars had the 330bhp, Chrysler V8 engine coupled to a Torqueflite three-speed automatic gearbox and fashionable Rostyle wheels were fitted. Originally supplied by Charles Follett Ltd to Mr. G.M. Cope of Cope Sportswear Ltd. on 2 nd August 1968, this Interceptor Mk. I is finished in bronze with beige leather trim. These iconic sports cars of the 60's are stunning to look at and, with a big 6276cc, V8 under the bonnet, superb to drive. The armchair like seats, together with a dashboard with an array of switches and dials combine to make the 'cockpit' area a thing of beauty, with superb ergonomics. In recent years this Jensen has enjoyed the sunnier climates of Spain, however recent repatriation to the UK means she is offered for sale once again. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate and a good history folder containing the original order form, build sheets and correspondence from the factory.
