Française d'origine, notre exemplaire fut livré neuf à M. Lauvergnat par Thepenier, le distributeur de la marque dans l'héxagone. Produite en février 1969, elle fut mise en circulation le 13 du mois suivant dans une livrée qu'elle arbore encore aujourd'hui, "Celeste Chiaro" avec intérieur en cuir noir et en motorisation 4.7L. Dans la même famille depuis plus de 28 ans, cette voiture fut arrêtée il y a désormais de nombreuses années. Des travaux mécaniques dont on trouve trace au dossier avaient été effectués au début des années 2000 et une restauration carrosserie, qui n'a pas été fait dans les règles de l'art, a très certainement été réalisée dans les années 80. Saine et complète dans l'ensemble, notre Ghibli nécessitera cependant aujourd'hui une complète restauration pour retrouver sa beauté d'antan. Seule la sellerie d'origine pourra probablement être conservée car sa patine d'usage est agréable à l'œil et confère à la voiture une âme incontestable. Précisons enfin qu'elle conserve son numéro de moteur d'origine. La Ghibli est une voiture particulièrement désirable dont il est très rare de trouver des exemplaires à restaurer. Elle représente une fantastique occasion de redonner vie à ce mythe de l'automobile, concurrent à son époque des Daytona ou autres Miura. Our example was sold new in France, delivered to Mr Lauvergnat by the French marque distributor, Thepenier. Built in February 1969, the 4.7-litre car was registered on the 13th of the following month, presented in " Celeste Chiaro " with black leather interior, the livery it retains today. In the same family ownership for the last 28 years, this Maserati has not run for many years. There is a record in the file of some mechanical work carried out at the start of the 2000s and a bodywork restoration, which was not carried out in accordance with the rules of the art, was probably undertaken during the 1980s. Offered in sound and complete condition overall, our Ghibli now requires a thorough restoration to return it to its former glory. It may be possible to conserve the original upholstery, its appealing patina offering a glimpse into the soul of the car. It is important to note that it retains its original engine number. The Ghibli is a particularly desirable car and it is very rare to come across such an example suitable for restoration.
