1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray LT 1 coupé No reserve Attestation FFVE Châssis n° 194371S105326 - Collection d'un amateur du Luberon - Bel état d'origine - Modèle mythique - Rare LT1 développant 330hp - Sans réserve La première Corvette, dénommée a posteriori C1, fût présentée à New York en 1953, alors équipée d'un moteur 6 cylindres en ligne 235ci. En 1969, la nouvelle génération de Corvette C3 fut introduite. Comme souvent pour ce modèle phare de Chevrolet, la liste des options est longue pour l'année 1971. Ainsi plusieurs motorisations sont proposées, la plus connue étant la version 454ci (LS 5) 365hp "big block". Le remplacement du bloc d'origine 350ci était facturé seulement 295 dollars, et, plus de 5 000 exemplaires de LS 5 furent vendus en 1971. La version que nous présentons ici est nettement plus rare. En effet il s'agit d'une version LT1 qui n'a été produite en qu'à 1 949 exemplaires cette même année. Cette couteuse option était facturée 483 dollars. Elle consistait à conserver la cylindrée de 350ci mais avec un moteur nettement amélioré développant 330 hp au lieu de 270 hp dans sa version standard. Notre collectionneur n'a pu résister à cet exemplaire qui se présente dans un état rare pour ce type de modèle. Son intérieur noir d'origine est très bien conservé et se marie à merveille avec sa teinte extérieur War Bonnet Yellow (code 989). La voiture fut repeinte par le passé en Italie et elle fut certifiée par l'ASI à la demande de son précèdent propriétaire, un important collectionneur italien. In 1969, the new C3 generation of the Corvette was introduced. As was often the case for Chevrolet's flagship model, there was a long list of options in 1971. Several engines were available, the best known being the 451ci LS5 "big block" producing 365bhp. This replacement for the original 350ci unit cost only 295$ extra, and more than 5000 LS5s were sold in 1971. The model we present here is considerably rarer. It is an LT1 version, of which only 1949 were built that year. Chevrolet charged 483$ for this costly option. The capacity of 350ci was retained, but the engine was significantly improved and developed 330bhp, versus 270bhp in standard form. Our client was unable to resist this car, which is in unusual condition for a model of this type. Its original black interior has been very well preserved and goes splendidly with its exterior finish in War Bonnet Yellow (code 989).
