1975 BMW R600 Lot Number110 RegistrationLGU 776P Chassis Number2960208 Engine Number2960208 Odometer reading17,905 miles EstimateNo Reserve ResultSold - £1,924 Print details Send this to a friend The BMW R60/6, R75/6, R90/6 and the sport model BMW R90S form a range of boxer twin motorcycles that were manufactured in Berlin by BMW from 1974 to 1976. The 'slash-six' models departed from the earlier 'slash-five' slightly with the smallest displacement changed from 500cc to 600cc. A sport model was offered, as were disc brakes (front only) for the first time. Additionally, the tank design was changed to remove the chrome trim panels and rubber knee pads were added instead, and the gauge pod was moved from the headlight housing to its own assembly over the housing. This BMW was first registered in September 1975 and we are informed by the current vendor it has recently been serviced and has had a new BMW battery fitted. Producing 80bhp much like the R80, this example has factory extras such as front disc brakes with steel braided hoses, an upgraded brake master cylinder and electric start. We are informed the engine is superb, performs well and the bike is surprisingly nimble creating the perfect ride for touring. In 2018 new carburettors were fitted by the vendor. The history file accompanying this motorcycle is comprehensive and includes many invoices and MoT test certificates dating back to 1990 and the owner's manual. We are also informed the vendor had a recent agreed classic insurance valuation for £8,000. Presented in silver with a lovely patina, this could make a good addition to any BMW collection, it is offered with an MoT test certificate valid until August 2019 and of course is tax exempt. Guide price £6,000 - £7,000
