This new model differed significantly from its predecessor and benefitted from a monocoque chassis, independently sprung wheels and disc brakes all round. The model was upgraded with the launch of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II in February 1977 and featured notable changes to the front suspension and the addition of rack and pinion steering. With a production run that continued until 1980 the Silver Shadow enjoyed, to date, the largest production volume of any car from the legendary Crewe manufacturer. This late Silver Shadow II model benefits from headlight wash wipe and is finished in the attractive and striking colour combination of Chestnut over Honey with an original beige leather interior, lovely woodwork, contrasting carpets and over rugs. Purchased from franchised Rolls-Royce dealers, Arnett of Bournemouth, in May 1983 by a Mr. Ronald William Richardson for £23,950, the sale of this Silver Shadow II includes the original owners cherished number plate RWR 474. This Rolls-Royce has benefitted from a main dealer service history up to 65,000 miles. Recently the car has received maintenance and detailing work and looks as good as new under the bonnet. Fitted with a mascot alarm, the desirable passenger door mirror, a full and complete original toolkit and locking hubcaps, this handsome Rolls-Royce is offered to auction with original handbooks and service book, original sale invoice, 18 previous MoT test certificates and a V5C registration document. Offered without reserve, this car is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new custodian.
