1990 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER SPIRIT II FOUR DOOR SALOON Registration No. H389 YYY Chassis No. SCAZS00A6LCH33547 Engine No. 72877L4101/NEL Burgundy with magnolia leather interior piped burgundy Engine: V8 6,750cc, pushrod overhead valve, K-Motronic fuel injection: Gearbox: three speed automatic; Suspension: front independent by wishbones and coil springs, rear independent by semi trailing arms and coil springs, electronic 3 position automatic ride control; Brakes: ABS, dual circuit power assisted four-wheel discs. Right hand drive. The Silver Spirit was a resounding success for the Crewe marque, evolved throughout the 1980s it was consistently praised for its splendor and innovation, but for the 1990 model year, further revisions were made and the familiar shape received a new designation. First shown at the Frankfurt Motor show in October 1989, the Spirit II utilized a computer activated Automatic Ride Control system that set new standards of ride comfort - even for Rolls-Royce. Developed over four years by the experimental division, the system is capable of reacting within one hundredth of a second to any changes in road surface to ensure the vehicle remains level and thus passenger comfort is without compromise. The Spirit II featured other technical improvements most notably ABS (anti-lock brake system) and the K-Motronic fuel injection system as previously fitted to the Bentley Turbo R. Aesthetic and ergonomic changes included a new leather-trimmed steering wheel, redesigned fascia, electrically adjustable lumbar to the front seats with incorporated heaters, vanity mirrors in both sun visors, a ten speaker stereo system and new alloy wheels to the exterior. Finished in the classic combination of burgundy with magnolia leather interior the car presents well. Indeed the theme is continued with a burgundy steering wheel, demister panel and piping to the seats, in response the headlining is magnolia along with the subtle coachline to the body. The odometer reads 52,000 miles and this 4 owner example benefits from electric memory seats and a chrome badge bar to the nose. The leather has worn well and one would assume that it has been Connolised recently, the paintwork though generally very good shows signs of refurbishment in places. Mechanical condition cannot be assured thus a thorough service is recommended before road use.
