Up until 1987 several replicas of the Lamborghini Countach were being offered; all of them were finding it difficult to produce a completed road version due to the complexities of the design. By the late 1980s, ABS (Auto Build-Up Services Ltd.) had joined the fray. However; ABS managed to complete and manufactured a high quality version of the Countach, albeit, at a price. Two versions were offered; the Scorpion, fully enclosed as per the original and the Monaco, an open top adaptation. To achieve the strength required for the convertible, partners that had worked for the Chevron and Shadow racing teams designed the space frame chassis. Not only would this chassis handle superbly but would also increase cabin space for improved driver and passenger comfort over the original. The end result was a stunning looking open top Countach. With so many recreations looking home built it is a pleasure to offer this ABS Countach convertible that is presented in absolutely stunning condition. The build was started in the early 1990s and took several years to complete as the highest standards, in all departments, was the aim. At the heart of this Countach is the specially designed spaceframe chassis to which a highly tuned five litre Ford V8 engine and a five speed Renault gearbox is mated. Fuel is supplied from the twin fuel tanks with twin fuel gauges recording the levels within the full LED dashboard. The suspension has unequal length A-frame wishbones with adjustable coil over shock absorber and anti-roll bars that keep the car firmly planted on the road. Ford Granada Scorpio steering keeps the car in line. Reversing is aided by a rear view camera and monitor if required. Full weather equipment is provided for those less than sunny days. Looking resplendent in metallic blue, the Countach looks spectacular with the replica Capagnolo three piece rims and the full Connolly leather interior adding to the look. With the genuine article now fetching well into six figures it is incredible that this exceptional mid engined supercar is offered with such a tempting estimate; practical too with its ease of maintenance and larger cabin space.
