1994 Ferrari 348 Spider Coachwork by Pininfarina Chassis no. ZFFUA43S000099186 •Delivered new to Switzerland •One of only 1,090 examples produced •Only 27,510 kilometres from new •Registered in Switzerland Fußnoten First seen in prototype form in 1987, the Ferrari 348 entered production in 1989, replacing the immensely successful 328 GTB/GTS. Mid-engined like its predecessor, the 348 differed by mounting its four-valves-per-cylinder, quad-cam V8 engine - now enlarged to 3.4 litres - longitudinally, enabling it to be positioned lower in the chassis. Another new departure was the transversely mounted five-speed gearbox - a spin-off from Ferrari's contemporary Formula 1 technology - which enabled weight to be concentrated within the wheelbase, thereby further improving the already brilliant roadholding. Initially typed 'tb' and 'ts' - trasversale berlinetta and trasversale spyder respectively - the 348 reverted to Ferrari's traditional GTB/GTS nomenclature part way through production. With its aerodynamic skirts, spoilers, minimal overhangs, and distinctive Testarossa-style gill slats feeding air to side-mounted radiators, the stocky 348 looked very much like a scaled-down Testarossa and, with around 300bhp on tap and a top speed of around 170mph (274km/h), gave little away in terms of outright performance to its larger, 12-cylinder sibling. In 1993 a more powerful (320bhp) open roadster was introduced: the 348 Spider. The first two-seat Ferrari convertible since the 'Daytona' Spyder 1969, the 348 Spider did away with the GTS's prominent roll-over bar, Targa-type removable roof panel and small side windows for a more minimalist look. Spider production ceased in 1995 after only 1,090 had been made. Finished in red with black leather interior, this 348 Spider was supplied new to Switzerland and is offered for sale by a Swiss/Italian collector. Accident-free, the car currently displays at total of only 27,510 kilometres on the odometer and was last serviced at circa 23,000 kilometres, since when it has been maintained in house. This car has the five-speed manual transmission featuring Ferrari's traditional 'H' gate, while other noteworthy features include 18" wheels and its original leather luggage and original leather-cased tool kit. Last tested in May 2015, the car is described by the vendor as in very good condition and comes with its instruction manual and service book; KFZ Classic Data Certificate; Swiss Carte Grise; and MFK (roadworthiness certificate) issued 24th September 2019. Pre
