French, probably early 19th century, gilt bronze and marble portico clock, the brass barrel clock case with glass cover and enamel dial signed "Piolaine A Paris" with gilt metal hands, barrel brass clock housing with hinged glass cover with pierced gilt brown floral apron supported by a plank of marble with twin vases at either side and flamed knops with loose chain, the clock housing with additional gilt bronze and vase form finial with acorn top, the clock housing and base supported by twin vase form pillars with gilt bronze accent and figures in reserve atop marble base, entirely supported by larger marble base with gilt bronze panels all around and knob feet, accompanied with clock key and sunburst pendulum; some area's of gilt bronze loose, specifically panels on lower base and parts on top of clock, some chips to marble, other wear and losses with numerous pieces loose in their mounting; H 20 1/2"
