2008 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Roadster Lot Number202 RegistrationLB57 JLU Chassis NumberWDD1994761M001550 Engine Number15598060001629 Odometer reading3,129 miles Estimate£235,000 - £260,000 Print details Send this to a friend 2 more images UK supplied example Very low mileage The SLR McLaren, introduced in November 2003, was Mercedes-Benz's foray into the world of the supercar, alongside such cars as the Porsche Carrera GT and the Ferrari Enzo. It was developed in collaboration with the McLaren Technology Centre which, at the time, was partially owned by Mercedes-Benz. For 2007, Mercedes-Benz added even more drama into the SLR by introducing the SLR McLaren Roadster. Whilst the roof was removed, the ‘swing-wing’ doors remained, hinged to the A-pillars rather than the roof itself. Not wishing to lose any excitement over the original SLR, engineers spent lots of time focusing on the car’s structural rigidity, and Mercedes claim that the roadster is as rigid as the coupé. With a top speed of over 185mph, at the time, this was one of the fastest and most exciting convertibles money could buy. Its AMG Speedshift R transmission provides three manual modes to suit the owner's style of driving. Other remarkable technical features include the Sensotronic 'brake by wire' system; carbon-ceramic disc brakes which can bring the SLR to a sharp halt from 120mph to stationary in less than 240 feet. Originally supplied by Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey on 22nd January 2008, this stunning SLR has only covered 3,129 miles from new. The condition of the car is certainly commensurate with such a low mileage; the Crystal Digenit Blue paintwork is unmarked as is the tan and anthracite leather interior and the 19” nine hole design turbine wheels are spotless - in summary this car presents as new despite being 11 years old. The cockpit area of an SLR is a thing of beauty and to drive such a car is a memorable experience. This one is no different; the engine fired up immediately upon request as one would expect of such a car, and drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full year’s MoT test certificate together with the original handbooks; whether you are driving to your local golf club or to the Côte d'Azur, there can be few more enjoyable ways to travel than a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
