Lot of 4: Roosevelt, Theodore (1858-1919). 26th President of the United States. Partially printed DS as Governor of New York, 1p, 11.25 x 17 in. May 19, 1900. Countersigned by Homer G. Tennant as 2nd Deputy New York Secretary of State. Red paper New York State Seal affixed lower left. By this document, Roosevelt appoints Edwin D. Morgan a horse racing Commissioner for the state of New York. Morgan was the grandson of Civil War General and New York Governor Edwin Morgan. He was also Commodore of the New York Yacht Club. Wilson, Woodrow (1856-1924). 28th President of the United States. Signed Harris & Ewing photograph, presumably as President, 9.75 x 13.75 in., Washington, D.C. Coolidge, Calvin (1872-1933). 30th President of the United States. 2 partially printed DsS as President, the first, 1p, 19 x 14 in. August 8, 1924. By this document President Coolidge appoints J. Klahr Huddle of Ohio as "a Foreign Service Officer of Class four of the United States of America." Countersigned by Acting Secretary of State Joseph C. Grew. White paper seal affixed to lower left; second DS, 1p, 23 x 19 in. December 20, 1924. By this document President Coolidge appoints Huddle to the same class as above document. Countersigned by Secretary of State and future U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Evan Hughes. Condition: Roosevelt document has chipped edges and discoloration. Wilson photograph has stains and abrasions on margins. Coolidge documents in fine condition.
