31.5 x 44.25 in. printed silk parade flag. Hoist end of the lower middle white stripe with "A.L. Cox" identification. Colorado became the 38th state in 1876. The 38-star flag was official for 13 years, until North Dakota became the 39th in 1889 (the next flag, however, was 43 stars, having 5 northern states added in 1889-1890 - ND, SD, MT, WA, ID). Condition: A satin repair to the hoist end of the canton.A few dark stripes that almost appear to be ink in the blue field, but do not detract much. Slight ink "bleed" of red to the white stripes, especially toward the fly. A few small scattered holes, but overall a solid flag with bright colors.
