A 9ct gold Airdrie Schools medal the obverse inscribed A.L.M, the reverse inscribed Airdrie Schools Cup, 1906, won by A.L. Morton and a 1927-28 sepia-toned team line-up photograph of Rangers Football Club, with team legend, 21 x 29cm This medal represents one of the first honours won by one of the greatest ever Ranger's players, Alan Lauder Morton, known as "The Wee Blue Devil", was born in Partick, Glasgow, in April 1893 and attended Airdrie Academy where he won the above medal. He subsequently joined Queen's Park in 1913 and then Rangers as a professional in June 1920 remaining there as a player until 1933. In the thirteen year period, he appeared no less than 31 times for Scotland, he won nine League Championship medals, two Scottish Cup Winner's medals and appeared in three other finals. Subsequently he became a Rangers Director in 1933 and remained in this position until his death in 1971 Provenance: Christie's Scotland, Football Memorabilia auction
